North: a homeless man died of hypothermia in Douai – TF1

A homeless man 29 years inanimate found on Saturday at Douai ( North ) and died within hours of death is likely hypothermia, is it learned Monday court sources.

The man was found Saturday morning in the entrance of a school in the city, the source said, confirming a report in La Voix du Nord. The newspaper said the man was resuscitated by the emergency on site but later died in hospital. A body of examination determined that the man was “probably froze to death,” said the judicial source.

An orange vigilance department last weekend

The Northern Department was placed in amber alert over the weekend, as temperatures fell dramatically. Sunday, several cities in France including Paris, Lyon, Poitiers and Calais have increased their accommodation capacity of the homeless, the most exposed to the cold wave that hit the country.

The Northern prefecture triggered on December 1, level 1 of the Plan Grand Froid, which provides 300 emergency accommodation places in addition to the existing 11,600 throughout the year. In the neighboring department of Pas-de-Calais, the prefect decided on Monday to maintain the level 2 of the plan triggered Grand Froid Friday as the weather forecast predicted temperatures experienced negative for the next local jours.Un is especially equipped to accommodate migrants, for the fourth consecutive night Monday.
