Chirac remains hospitalized, his wife Bernadette, she returned home – The Point

rumors of the most alarming since his hospitalization in emergency Sunday in Paris, Jacques Chirac, 83 years old, is still being treated for a lung infection at the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital, but his wife, Bernadette, briefly hospitalized, she returned home.

“After four days of follow-up and resting, Bernadette Chirac”, also 83-year-old, left Friday evening to the hospital of the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital. President Chirac remains hospitalized and continues the care and treatment of his lung infection,” said their son-in-law Frederic Salat-Baroux, spouse of Claude Chirac.

The former secretary-general of the Elysée palace did not comment on the current state of the ex-head of State (1995-2007). According to sources close to the family, Mr. Chirac, however, will be better than last Sunday, when he had to be supported.

His return from Morocco, where he was for several weeks on holiday with his wife, had been advanced 24 hours on the advice of doctors.

Since then, very little information has filtered out about his condition. Tuesday and Wednesday, the wildest rumours had been circulated in Paris, with some reports of photos taken by paparazzi and showing the family Chirac out, heartbroken, to the hospital. Others contended that the family awaited the return of the United States of president Francois Hollande Wednesday to let him announce… the death of his predecessor.

The twittosphère was also inflamed, and the former minister Christine Boutin was even went so far as to announce Wednesday afternoon on Twitter the death of Mr. Chirac.

- “Agitation nauseating” -

The family of the former president had then tapped the fist on the table, and Mr. Salat-Baroux had asked, “urges respect for its tranquility” and his “private life”, the same as that of its relatives.

“Like all families, Chirac must be able to cope in peace with the hardships of life. Our society has so much changed that it is necessary to twice a day remember such truths,” had thundered the former secretary general of the Elysée.

After a long time refused to admit her error, Ms. Boutin has finally removed his tweet on Friday.

Already very affected by the death of their eldest daughter, Lauren, in April, the former first lady has also had to be hospitalized Tuesday night “to blow off and recover a bit”, in the words of his son-in-law.

the Entire French political class has addressed this week, messages of sympathy and wishes for a speedy recovery to former president Jacques Chirac, who has never been as popular as since he left the Elysée in may 2007 and has acquired a real international prestige for his opposition to the war in Iraq in 2003. Several officials, such as Nicolas Sarkozy, denounced “a stirring nauseous” around the state of health of the couple.

Since his departure from the Elysée palace, Mr Chirac – the victim of a stroke in 2005 after having been known for decades for its health iron and its natural bon vivant – has already been hospitalized several times. As to each of his hospitalizations, his previous stay in the Pity, in December 2015, for “impairment” had already been the occasion of many rumors.
